Ayodhya Bans Meat, Alcohol on Ram Path

Ayodhya city officials have implemented several measures to preserve the religious sanctity of the Ram Path, a 14-kilometer stretch connecting Ayodhya and Faizabad. These actions include banning the sale of meat and alcohol, as well as prohibiting advertisements for paan and gutkha along the route. The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation adopted a resolution to enforce these restrictions, aiming to maintain the area’s spiritual atmosphere. Previously, similar measures had been taken during significant religious events. For instance, during the Navratri festival in October 2024, the Uttar Pradesh government imposed a ban on the sale of meat and restricted the sale of liquor in Ayodhya to uphold religious sentiments.

These recent actions reflect a continued effort by Ayodhya authorities to ensure that the Ram Path remains a space of religious reverence and cultural significance.
