Davido’s Family Expands Luxury Fleet with New Private Jet

Nigerian music superstar David “Davido” Adeleke has announced that his billionaire father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, has acquired a third private jet, a brand-new Bombardier Global 7500 valued at over $78 million (₦117 billion), further cementing the Adeleke family’s status as one of Nigeria’s most affluent dynasties. The revelation, shared by Davido on his Instagram Story on August 24, 2025, sparked widespread reactions, with the singer playfully taunting detractors, stating, “Congrats, daddy!! Number 3!! U dey worry!!! Congrats to the dynasty.”

The Bombardier Global 7500, described by Tribune Online as the world’s largest and longest-range business jet, boasts four living spaces, a full-size kitchen, a dedicated crew suite, and a 7,700-nautical-mile range, capable of 17-hour non-stop flights. The jet, which can accommodate up to 14 passengers, was showcased in a viral video by blogger Tunde Ednut, who noted its arrival in Lagos ahead of Davido’s June 2024 wedding to Chioma Rowland. @yabaleftonline tweeted, “Davido’s dad buys 3rd private jet for ₦117B! Biggest in West Africa! #AdelekeDynasty.”

Davido’s announcement follows a history of the Adeleke family’s high-profile aviation acquisitions. In 2018, Dr. Adeleke, a business magnate and president of Adeleke University, purchased a $35 million Bombardier jet, followed by a $62 million Bombardier Global Express 6000 in 2020, as reported by MyJoyOnline. Davido, often referring to his father’s assets as “ours,” celebrated the latest purchase with pride, writing, “Late last year, I called him my hero for building a power plant. Now this! #Dynasty.”

The news has ignited mixed reactions. Supporters lauded the Adelekes’ wealth, with @NaijaGist tweeting, “Davido’s family with a 3rd jet? That’s generational wealth! #001,” while @pitakwa1 echoed, “My generation shall be liberated like the Adelekes! #BillionairesClub.” Critics, however, slammed the display of opulence amid Nigeria’s economic struggles, with @MezieAbia tweeting, “Davido, all this money on jets could help millions of deprived Nigerians. Be a blessing!” @Waspapping_ added, “Spending billions on luxury while youths need jobs is tone-deaf.”

Confusion persists over ownership, as Davido previously claimed a Bombardier 7500 as his own in April 2024, a claim later debunked by Legit.ng, which clarified it belonged to his father. Mandy News noted that Davido’s wealth, while significant, likely cannot support such a purchase, suggesting the jet is part of the family’s collective assets. The Adelekes’ fleet has drawn comparisons to global elites, with Nairaland calling it “30BG’s latest flex.”

The purchase comes amid Davido’s global success, with his album Timeless still charting and his recent Vogue feature for his Miami wedding. However, TheCoolDown criticized his jet-setting lifestyle for its environmental impact, noting private jets produce carbon emissions equivalent to 177 cars annually. @MarioNawfal tweeted, “Davido’s jets are a climate concern, but Nigeria celebrates the flex. #Environment.”
