Charles Idibia urges legendary singer to take a break, reclaim his life, and heal for the sake of his children
Charles Idibia, brother to Nigerian music icon 2Face Idibia, has written an emotional and strongly-worded open letter urging the singer to “wake up” and escape what he describes as emotional captivity.
The letter comes in the wake of 2Face’s apology following a controversial interview where he claimed no man can stay with just one woman. While the singer has been heavily criticized for the comment, his brother’s post suggests there’s a deeper issue behind the scenes.
In the Instagram post dated July 2, 2025, Charles accused an unnamed woman—presumed to be 2Face’s current partner—of extreme manipulation and control. He alleged she:
Broke into 2Face’s phone to announce a divorce on his behalf
Cloned his WhatsApp and replied messages as him
Sabotaged his career, business decisions, and public image
Forces him to defend lies, controls his emails, and isolates him from his Lagos-based management
Charles described his brother as a gentle, kind-hearted soul who is being used and painted as a villain by the same person he is protecting. He likened 2Face to “a modern-day Jesus Christ from Nigeria” and warned that if he doesn’t take action soon, he may become the victim of a tragic ending like those seen in crime documentaries.
He ended the heartfelt note with a plea:
“Take a couple of months off ALONE… Give yourself time to heal and reflect… Your 7 lovely kids deserve a happy and healthy father. This isn’t you.”
The post has stirred reactions online, with many fans expressing concern and calling for the singer’s well-being and mental health to be prioritized.
