Reno Omokri Warns Arewa Against Supporting Peter Obi
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has warned that if the Arewa (Northern) region of Nigeria supports Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, the country could experience unrest similar to the crisis in Cameroon.
Omokri accuses Obi of manipulating the North into protests that led to significant destruction in the region. He claims that individuals behind these protests were not from the core North and that the violence was a deliberate attempt to destabilize the region. He also points out the irony of Russian flags being waved during these protests, suggesting that the protesters were misled .
Furthermore, Omokri criticizes Obi for allegedly politicizing the Benue attacks and for making statements that he believes incite violence. He argues that Obi’s actions and rhetoric are exacerbating the country’s challenges rather than offering solutions .
In a related development, Omokri has called for Obi’s arrest if he continues to make treasonable statements. He emphasizes that inciting violence and undermining the government’s authority are serious offenses that should not be tolerated .
Omokri’s warnings highlight the potential dangers of political manipulation and the importance of responsible leadership in maintaining national unity and peace.
