Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, tied the knot in a lavish $3.7 million white wedding on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Miami, Florida, captivating fans and setting social media ablaze with the hashtag #Chivido2025. The star-studded ceremony, following a glamorous “Havana Nights” pre-wedding party on August 8, marks the couple’s third wedding event after their court marriage in March 2023 and traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024. Davido’s revelation of the wedding’s staggering cost—equivalent to over ₦5.6 billion—has sparked both admiration and debate, cementing the event as one of Nigeria’s most extravagant celebrity nuptials.
The wedding, held at a luxurious beachfront venue, saw Davido and Chioma arrive in coordinated elegance, with the groom in a tailored white tuxedo and the bride in a stunning white gown designed by a yet-to-be-disclosed international designer. Pre-wedding photos, shared on Instagram on August 9, showcased the couple in monochrome outfits, earning praise for their “effortless elegance” from BellaNaija. The “Havana Nights” pre-wedding bash, attended by Nigerian stars like Teniola Apata, Adekunle Gold, Zlatan Ibile, and Tunde Ednut, featured the couple in matching vibrant attire, with Davido sporting a cowboy hat and Chioma in a chic cut-out dress. A notable guest, Edwina Akufo-Addo Jumah, daughter of former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, added international flair to the festivities.
Davido, in a viral video from the pre-wedding event, boasted, “I spent $3.7 million cash, so we should know what we are doing here,” highlighting the wedding’s opulence. The guest list included high-profile figures like Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, and entertainers like Poco Lee and B-Red, with clips showing Zlatan and Davido sharing playful moments. The ceremony, described as a “five-day beachfront spectacle,” featured floral decorations, a private jet arrival with a “MRS” chair for Chioma, and a grand entrance sign reading “Chivido. The couple’s love story, spanning over two decades, has been a public saga. They met at Babcock University, went public in 2018 with Davido’s hit Assurance dedicated to Chioma, and welcomed twins in October 2023 after the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.
