“Nigerians Don’t Rate Anybody” — Lawyer Adeyanju Deji Cautions VeryDarkMan
Popular Nigerian lawyer and political activist, Adeyanju Deji, has sent a blunt warning to controversial online personality VeryDarkMan (VDM), urging him to “use his head” and quit taking unnecessary risks in the name of activism or clout.
“Be careful. Nigerians don’t rate anybody,” Deji wrote, reminding VDM that in this country, “people move on fast” no matter how much you sacrifice.
His statement echoes a harsh truth about Nigerian society — public loyalty is fickle, and those who put their lives or freedom on the line often end up abandoned or forgotten. The comment has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many agreeing that clout doesn’t equal protection, especially in a nation where justice is slow and memory is short.
