Ellen DeGeneres has officially confirmed she left the United States after Donald Trump’s 2024 re-election victory, citing growing concerns over LGBTQ+ rights and political instability. Now residing in the English countryside with her wife, Portia de Rossi, Ellen says life in the U.K. is “just better.”
The former talk show icon also used her recent public appearance in Cheltenham to finally address the long-standing allegations of a toxic work environment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She admitted to being “blunt” and “direct,” but insists she’s not mean—just misunderstood. With her future wide open, Ellen hinted at a possible return to television, but only on her own terms.
