“Forgive My Husband Before We Bury Him” — Aisha Buhari Pleads With Nigerians
In an emotional and solemn appeal, Aisha Buhari, the wife of Nigeria’s former president Muhammadu Buhari, has called on Nigerians to forgive her late husband for any wrongs he may have committed during his lifetime.
Speaking during a private family gathering in Daura, Aisha Buhari said:
🗣️ “My husband was not perfect. He made decisions as a leader that may have hurt some people. I beg Nigerians — from the bottom of my heart — forgive him before we lay him to rest.”
She added that while Buhari served the country with “honest intentions,” some of his actions may have fallen short of expectations. Her plea comes just hours before the late former president is scheduled to be buried according to Islamic rites.
