Mohbad’s Death: VeryDarkMan Suggests Key Witnesses and Blogs May Be Hiding Crucial Information

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has intensified his campaign for justice in the unresolved death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, by accusing the late singer’s widow, Wunmi Aloba, of withholding critical information and manipulating the narrative surrounding her husband’s death on September 12, 2023. In a viral video posted on Instagram, VDM claimed that Instablog9ja, which first reported Mohbad’s death as resulting from an ear infection, likely received this false information from someone in the singer’s household, pointing to Wunmi or Mohbad’s brother, Adura, as the probable source.

VDM, who has interviewed Mohbad’s friend Primeboy, associate Spending, and the Prado driver who transported the singer to his final show in Ikorodu, stated that Wunmi, Adura, and Mohbad’s cousin Darosha are unlikely to grant him interviews. “I’ve spoken to Primeboy, Spending, and the driver, but the truth lies with Instablog,” VDM said. “They broke the news of Mohbad’s death, claiming it was an ear infection. That information had to come from someone inside the house—either Wunmi or Adura.” He noted that Wunmi’s Instagram status the following day, reposted by Instablog, did not refute the ear infection claim, suggesting she may have been the source.

VDM further criticized Wunmi for posting, “They took him away from me,” without clarifying who “they” were, fueling public confusion. This ambiguity, he argued, shifted attention to bullying allegations against Naira Marley and Sam Larry, while Primeboy and Spending were detained for four months without Wunmi publicly defending their innocence. “Why didn’t you speak out during the protests for Mohbad’s justice? Why didn’t you name the ‘they’ at the coroner’s inquest?” VDM questioned, alleging a deliberate effort to obscure what happened in Mohbad’s home. He pointed to inconsistencies between Wunmi’s Arise TV interview, where she claimed Mohbad was alive when taken to the hospital, and the hospital’s press release stating he was brought in dead.

The activist’s claims have stirred significant reaction on X, with @dammiedammie35 amplifying VDM’s call for Instablog to reveal its source, while @instablog9ja’s earlier posts about Wunmi’s sister-in-law Karimot accusing her of complicity added fuel to the debate. VDM also referenced a WhatsApp chat where Primeboy requested his bag from Wunmi, who delayed his access, raising suspicions about her actions post-incident. Critics like Karimot have accused Wunmi of protecting key figures, while supporters argue she’s been unfairly targeted amid grief.

The Lagos State coroner’s inquest, concluded in February 2024, ruled Mohbad’s death was likely due to a reaction to an injection, with a nurse facing prosecution, but failed to identify a definitive cause, prompting ongoing public skepticism. VDM’s probe, including interviews with Mohbad’s father, who reported finding a blood-soaked duvet and being denied a police report, has reignited demands for transparency. As VDM urges Nigerians to question the narrative, the case remains a flashpoint, with calls for Instablog to disclose its source intensifying the quest for answers in Mohbad’s tragic death.
