“He just wants to keep killing people” — Trump says of Putin

U.S. President Donald Trump has voiced deep dissatisfaction with his recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday, Trump said:

“I told you I was very unhappy with my call with President Putin. He wants to go all the way, just keep killing people — it’s no good.”

The former president, who has previously been criticized for a softer stance on Russia, indicated a possible shift. After months of hesitation, Trump now says he’s considering tougher sanctions against Moscow.

“We talk about sanctions a lot,” Trump added. “He understands that it may be coming.”

The remarks signal growing pressure within the U.S. administration to respond more forcefully to Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine
