In a briefing on July 1, 2025, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, the Customs Area Controller for Apapa, announced that the Nigerian Customs Service—Apapa Area Command—collected ₦1.378 trillion in revenue from January to June 2025. This sum, derived from import and export duties and various fees, was attributed to strategic partnerships with freight forwarding associations and enhanced compliance efforts .
