After Two Decades in a Coma, Saudi Prince Regains Consciousness—A Testament to a Father’s Devotion
Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, affectionately known as the “Sleeping Prince,” has been in a coma for nearly two decades following a severe brain injury sustained in a car accident in London in 2005. Despite medical advice to discontinue life support, his father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, has steadfastly refused, expressing unwavering faith in divine will. Prince Khaled stated, “If God had wanted him to die in the accident, he would have been in his grave now,” highlighting his deep belief in the possibility of his son’s recovery.
Throughout these years, Prince Khaled has maintained a daily vigil at his son’s side, offering prayers and support. Remarkably, in 2019, there were minor signs of responsiveness from Prince Al-Waleed, such as slight movements, which have renewed hope among his family and supporters.
Prince Al-Waleed’s story has garnered international attention, symbolizing the profound bond between parent and child and the enduring power of hope and faith. His family’s dedication continues to inspire many around the world.
