Davido, Cubana Chief Priest Visit President Tinubu at Office
Afrobeats star Davido, alongside nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu (popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest) and talent manager Ubi Franklin, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. During the meeting, Davido introduced his companions to the President, noting their affiliation with the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ubi Franklin highlighted his involvement in Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign, mentioning that he traveled to 15 states during the election period. In response, President Tinubu acknowledged their efforts, stating, “Very good. We succeeded and made it to the presidency.” Cubana Chief Priest expressed confidence in the President’s future, declaring, “We will succeed again in 2027”.
The visit has garnered attention on social media, with videos showing the group exchanging greetings with the President and introducing members of Davido’s team. Notably, Davido’s Ghanaian creative director, Deekay DMW, shared an emotional message about meeting the President, describing it as a significant moment in his life.
While the specific purpose of the visit was not disclosed, it follows recent meetings between the trio and other Nigerian political figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas. These engagements have sparked discussions about potential political alignments and the role of entertainment figures in Nigerian politics .
