Drake’s Album Experiences Explosive 8,500%+ Sales Spike
Drake’s collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, has experienced a remarkable resurgence in sales, skyrocketing by over 8,500% following its recent vinyl release. This surge propelled the album to No. 7 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, marking a significant comeback for the project that initially had modest physical sales upon its digital debut in February 2025.
Upon its initial release, Some Sexy Songs 4 U debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, amassing 246,000 album-equivalent units, including 25,000 pure album sales. The album also achieved over 287 million on-demand streams in its first week, setting a new record for the largest streaming week of 2025 at that time.
The dramatic increase in sales underscores the enduring appeal of physical formats like vinyl, particularly among collectors and dedicated fans. It also highlights the strategic impact of staggered release formats in revitalizing album sales and chart performance.
