Concern Rises Over Jerry Williams’ Health
Nollywood actor Jerry Williams faced significant challenges in 2023 due to issues related to drug abuse. In June 2023, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) suspended him indefinitely after monitoring his involvement with illicit substances since December 2022. The AGN expressed concerns about the safety of other performers on set, stating that Williams posed a risk not only to himself but also to his colleagues.
Following his suspension, Williams entered a rehabilitation facility to address his addiction. By August 2023, after undergoing therapy and complying with the guild’s directives, the AGN lifted his suspension. Williams expressed gratitude to the AGN, his family, friends, and fans for their support during his recovery.
In a video message, Williams announced his return to work, stating, “My suspension has been lifted, I am going back to work, sound, healthy, strong.”
