The EFCC has officially handed over a massive 753-unit housing estate in Abuja—seized from former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele—to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

This handover took place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi. EFCC Chairman Olanipekun Olukoyede personally handed over the estate to Housing Minister Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa.

According to the Ministry’s spokesperson, Salisu Badamasi Haiba, the estate—located at Plot 109, Cadastral Zone C09, Lokogoma, and covering over 150,000 square meters—was confiscated after EFCC investigations confirmed it was not legally acquired.

Minister Dangiwa praised the EFCC’s anti-corruption fight and said the estate will be inspected, tested for structural integrity, and completed with key infrastructure like roads, drainage, and security posts.

He said the homes would then be sold to the public through a transparent process using the Renewed Hope Portal and national ads, with some reserved for government needs.

EFCC Chairman Olukoyede emphasized the project supports President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating firmly, “We will not allow looted assets to be looted again.”
