Chris Brown Case: Second Individual Now Facing Charges

A second man has been charged in connection with an alleged assault involving American singer Chris Brown at a London nightclub in February 2023. Omololu Akinlolu, a 38-year-old US national known by his stage name HoodyBaby, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The incident occurred at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where music producer Abraham Diaw was allegedly struck multiple times with a bottle and then punched and kicked by Brown and Akinlolu. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the assault. Diaw sustained significant injuries, including head lacerations and torn ligaments, leading him to file a civil lawsuit against Brown seeking £12 million in damages.
Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester on May 15, 2025, and appeared in court on May 16, 2025. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at Southwark Crown Court on June 13, 2025.
The charges against both Brown and Akinlolu carry a maximum penalty of 16 years in prison.
